ROUBAIX 2021 WORLD TRACK CYCLING CHAMPIONSHIPS
After ten years of great success and the conquest of the of Italian, European and Olympic championship titles, while wearing DMT on his feet, Elia Viviani’s palmares now includes the gold medal on the track in one of his favorite races: the Elimination. A historic victory not only because for the first time this specialty is part of the World Championship program but also for his performance against some the best ever riders.
After the bronze in the Omnium, the Veronese pistard managed to beat the great Iúri Leitão and Sergey Rostovtsev on the track with an excellent performance and one of his renowned final sprints that have made him famous all over the world.
I'm happy because this is a title that makes history and comes at the end of a season focused on the Olympics. It was not easy to prepare for the world’s and it was even more difficult for us road riders, but we managed to find great energy and to give Italy the best results ever in a track world championship.

It's been ten years of chasing this jersey and it has arrived in one of the races that I like most, in which you need a mix of strength, cunning and intelligence. I knew I had a great chance, the guys always push me to give something more, we all want to grow together and we already have a goal called Paris 2024.
